Hollywood has been the leader of the cinema industry for decades. Other countries do not seem to catch up with both the quality and quantity of Hollywood movies. The neighborhood has produced films ranging from superhero, espionage, sci-fi, drama, to war themes. And most of them have gone famous worldwide.
But believe it or not, Hollywood has its phase of development. It did not become the best film production complex overnight. And as a consequence, movies which are either visually terrible or poorly directed got a redo. And below are the three movies you might not have realized were rebooted.
West World
Written by Christopher Nolan’s sibling, Jonathan Nolan, West World has been successful to capture the attention of both sci-fi and wild west world enthusiasts. HBO has been broadcasting the series for two seasons now. And it has gained positive responses from critics too.
The story centers on an amusement park that allows the guests to do as they please to the robot inhabitants who are called as the hosts. The human guests can murder, rob, rape, create chaos, or play hero in the park. However, the original designer of the park has visioned the awakening of the hosts by gradually giving a conscience to them.
The movie is visually stunning and filled with high-tech prosthetics. It is not for the faint hearts because you can expect to see many gory scenes as the hosts slaughter their human guests. And although you might have thought that the concept of the story has been inspired by the technological advancement we have had today, the truth may surprise you. The original show was created in 1973 and was written by Michael Chricton.
Prometheus
Prometheus was an alien invasion movie that got its fame in 2012. It tells a story of an intergalactic exploration that goes wrong. A group of scientists tries to find out who the maker of humanity is. They have managed to decipher anthropological clues found on Earth, which leads them to encounter the divine alien race they refer to as the Engineers.
However, the Engineers does not seem to value human life at all. In fact, they have developed a parasitic bioweapon named the Xenomorphs. One by one of the ship’s crews gets killed by the Xenomorphs. In the end, the exploration ends up as a catastrophe with only Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and David the Android as the survivors.
Despite few differences of the story, Prometheus is a reboot of Alien series originated in 1979, and it was written by the same person, Riddley Scott.
Jurassic World
Starred by Chris Pratt, who has made his fame in Marvel’s Guardian of the Galaxy series, Jurassic World resurrects the awesomeness of the dinosaur era.
If you got astonished by the visual effect of the 2018 movie, you have to know that the same title had been made in 1993.
